You can still promote anything online without spending a dime. (Although PPC is still best way to target a certain niche)

Link referral is one of my favorite free programs i use to promote this forum is because i get about 20 hit's daily from them. I have been with linkreferral since 2005 and is a upgraded member. (No big benifits as an upgraded member) But linkreferral is slowly adding new options and making the program better to use. I have a link to linkreferral under your PM inbox at the top of the forum.
Do you like to write? There are a few blog sites that are free to join. Get your own blog and write to it weekly, daily or monthly.. (How much you write is up to you)
Any forum you belong to, make sure that you use your profile options to the max. Add a website in your details page, fill in your siggie with some links to sites you want people to see. In time as you build up a reputation, people will tend to check our your links in profile. Profiles are search able in the search engines.
I use search engines daily to search for this, sometimes i click on a link in there and end up on a forum viewing a post or some other part of the forum and see what i wanted to see. (could even be a link in that one dude's siggie)
Do you belong to any other free advertising forums? I made a list of some good ones to promote anything on. Just view the "forum promotion" forum here and see the sticky i made. Those forum's i'm a member of also.
There are a lot more ways to promote a product or website for free out there. Just by typing in key phrase's in the search engines, you will get result's related to what you are seeking.
Type in "free classified ads" into google. The first 2 pages would be the recommended classified ad's to promote your sites on. They are free to submit to but you don't get many features unless you pay. Hey, free is okay and there is no such thing as over-night success. Set a schedule and stick to it.. May take few days, weeks, month's or a year to reach your goals.
