Global Domains International is getting a bad rap. I've seen several post on many different forums about people who have joined and failed to make any money. For $10.00 a month Global Domains International gives you a domain name, free web hosting, a website builder and 10 email addresses. Truth be told, there are 100's if not 1000's of web hosting companies that provide more bang for the buck, than GDI.

But it's the simplicity of GDI that draws people to the company. Average Joe's and Jane's know one thing and one thing only about GDI, for ten dollars you can have your very own website up and on-line in a few short minutes. And these are the customers that GDI tends to pull in. Average people with little or no computer skills that want their voices heard on-line. Ironically, these same consumers tend to not promote GDI, because all they ever wanted out of the deal was a website of their own.

This is unfortunate, because for each person you refer to GDI you will receive a $1.00 commission. $1.00 may not seem like a lot, but the referral program goes down 5 levels deep. The key to making money with GDI is to not promote GDI. Confused? Let me explain... is GDI considered a Pyramid Scheme or a Scam?

The simple answer by definition is "no". A pyramid scheme is defined in Wikipedia "as a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people, into the scheme, usually without any product or service being delivered." By definition, GDI is not a "Pyramid Scheme" because they offer website domain names, hosting services, email addresses, and other internet services. There is a product and there is a service. A "scam" is defined in Wikipedia as, "a confidence trick or confidence game. More often known as a con, scam, swindle, grift, bunko, flim flam, stratagem, or scheme, is an attempt to swindle a person or people (known as the "mark" or sometimes "griftee") which involves gaining his or her confidence". By definition, GDI is not a "scam" either, however, the person presenting you with an opportunity could be a scam artist, and therfore, you could get scammed.

So, we have looked at Global Domains International as a company, we have looked at what you get when you join Global Domains International, and we have looked at the definition of "Pyramid Scheme" and Scam". So the question remains, is Global Domains International (GDI) a Viable Work at Home Opportunity?

An business opportunity is defined in Wikipedia as follows, "business opportunity, or bizopp, involves the sale or lease of any product, service, equipment, etc. that will enable the purchaser-licensee to begin a business. The licensor or seller of a business opportunity usually declares that it will secure or assist the buyer in finding a suitable location or provide the product to the purchaser-licensee." Again, by definition, GDI is a viable business opportunity. You are getting a product or service and you are getting support from GDI via their website.

Based on all of the above information, it looks like GDI is a legitimate Work From Home Opportunity and not a Pyramid Scheme or a Scam.
